Micro Teaching - Skill of Questioning

Questioning is one of the most important skill in the teaching learning process. It is help to understand the previous knowledge of the student, and to maintain discipline and interest. Micro teaching based on this skill was conducted on 15/10/2018, Monday. I was selected the topic 'Metalloids'. It takes 6.13 minute. For this I prepared a chart material, which shows the names of matelloids present in our world.  After the segment teacher and observers gives valuable feedback. " Micro teaching is defined as the scaled down teaching encounter practicing one skill at a time. " On 12/10/2018 Micro teaching of different skills are practiced by teacher trainees as per the part of BEd curriculum. I have got ' Skill of black board writing '. For this I selected the topic 'Chemical bonding.' Peer group from different departments act as students and peers from our class as observers. I was take 8.33 minutes to present the topic.  After the segment teacher and observers gives valuable feedback. It will helps to improve the skill. Components of the skill 1. Legibility 2. Socially Useful Product Work

Our college organised SUPW (Socially Useful Product Work) programme as part of the BEd curriculum. Mohanlal Sir ( G.H.S.S Sadananthapuram ) came into our college as resource person. He said about the need and requirement of knowing a job. He teaches how to prepare a paper carry bag. Now a days, paper carry bag has great relevance, because of plastic pollution. Materials required : Chart paper, gum, scale, scissors, eyelets, punching machine, eyelet punch, hammer. Procedure :  1. Take a piece of chart paper and make a crease at the center. 2. Paste the two sides together with glue. Allow it to dry for some time. 3. Fold both sides of the paper. The thickness of the fold will determine the space inside the bag. 4. Open the folds and along the creases made fold inwards on both sides. 5. Fold the bottom of the bag for a length around 3/4th of the thickness of the side.
